Our story…

We like to say we “met in the wild”, meaning if either of us had been anywhere else at any other time, we may not be celebrating a wedding! Andy was working a food and wine festival that Elizabeth was attending. Their paths crossed once, twice, and by the third time, Elizabeth was about to get in an Uber to leave. Luckily, Andy stopped her to chat and the rest is history.

In our 5 years dating, we developed a shared love for hiking, traveling, food, wine, and adventures. Some of our favorite moments include:

  • Our first vacation together to the West Coast, roadtripping from San Francisco to Seattle

  • Moving into Elizabeth’s 600 sq. ft. studio (!) condo together

  • Celebrating Andy’s career switch to Software Engineering and the advent of us both working remotely

  • Our two month foray living in downtown Chicago

  • Our two month foray living in Denver

  • Our first international vacation together to Switzerland

Our engagement…

For Elizabeth’s 30th birthday, we decided to take our first international vacation together to Switzerland. Elizabeth had planned a jam-packed schedule of hiking, spas, cheese fondue, paragliding, and more cheese fondue with hardly any room for deviation.

Luckily, Andy convinced Elizabeth to go to Lauterbrunnen (aka: The Valley of Waterfalls) where he had scheduled a private photographer for their anniversary. After trekking to a secluded lookout over the valley, Andy got down on one knee and proposed with the ring his father gave to his mother.

It was the most cherished day of the entire trip. Rest assured, Elizabeth still made them hike and eat cheese fondue that day.
